The Castelli Romani area has many vineyards that are becoming more popular, and are just a short distance away from the city, so come along and discover some of the best Lazio wines!

Highlights

  • Wine Tasting at the best Castelli Romani producers
  • Traditional local lunch at a winery

Itinerary

The Castelli Romani area, in the hills just outside of Rome, has been a wine-growing area since ancient times, and is now coming back as a major destination for wine lovers. Come with us for a day discovering the local varieties and tastes of the region.

We’ll travel from Rome to Frascati by train with your tour leader, before being collected by the comfort of a luxury vehicle, with a local driver.

Our first stop will be a typical fraschetta in the town centre, to taste the local wine and have a snack.

At our second winery, you can explore the vineyards, learning about the indigenous grapes and what gives the area’s wines their distinctive characteristics. We’ll taste some of the different wines produced before we stop for a traditional local lunch. In Italy, wine and food go together very specifically, and we’ll help you discover why.

Afterwards, jump back in the vehicle, and we’ll carry on to our last stop for the grand finale, with another wine tasting of different varieties.

When we finish and return to Rome, you’ll have had a fantastic day with some of the best wines and food that the area has to offer.
